The company Hannibal Laguna celebrates 35 years in fashion with its new collection “HANNIBALISSIMO 35” with a beautiful show photographed by Juan Francisco Pagan.
Half Valencian, half Andalusian and born in Caracas, the creator of Hannibal Laguna grew up observing his parents’ work in one of the most prominent children’s fashion brands of the 70s. At the age of 15 he moved to Europe and studied tailoring in Milan, specializing in volumetric construction and technique of modeling on a mannequin.
In 1987, his first collection “Concorde” was awarded the Air France prize and selected by Paco Rabanne to represent Spain at the “Europe in USA” international show.
In 1988 the company Hannibal Laguna was born, coinciding with the presentation of the first fashion show at the legendary Colony Theater in Miami and exhibiting the collection at the Miami Convention Center. The recognition of the critics and the applause of the press made a small family business begin the adventure of international distribution and the opening of a new Atelier for the brand. Soon after, the company began to experiment with creating exclusive designs for clients, and boutiques began to request pieces from their private collections. Moment in which it was decided to merge pret-a-porter with exclusive designs, thus creating the iconic Couture collections.
In the 90’s, the brand discovers the magic of dressing a bride and the iconic bras of the firm become a milestone. Being one of the first to present a monographic collection exclusively dedicated to brides on the Gaudi catwalk.
In 2017 the company Hannibal Laguna celebrates its 30th anniversary and in 2019 inaugurates the new space of the house, located at C/ Zorrilla 25, in the center of Milla de Oro del Arte de Madrid.

Hannibal Laguna celebrates 35 years in fashion with its new collection “HANNIBALISSIMO 35”. Since the company HANNIBAL LAGUNA presented its first collection at the Lincoln Theater in Miami in the 1980s, its exquisite and iconic corsets have made it a benchmark in the recent history of Spanish fashion. After 35 years of success, his romantic and sophisticated hallmarks continue to cross borders to dress women all over the world with the magic of his needle.
HANNIBALISSIMO 35 allows us to look forward and backward at the same time to anticipate the future and reconnect emotions, feelings and memories. Now, the firm passionately revives and from a current perspective, the different codes of the house’s heritage, fusing legendary silhouettes with embroideries and details that reinterpret the Spanish legacy and the craftsmanship excellence of haute couture.
True to its aesthetic ideology, this proposal highlights a splendid succession of nocturnal pieces with references inspired by Spanish architecture, art and culture in which subtle transparencies flow, organza flounces and silk embroidered ornaments, gold threads, pearls and crystal.
Sculptural lines with wide skirts; fitted sashes and plunging necklines edged with glazed laces give way to suggestive evening dresses with an evase line that resembles a tunic, with delicate relief-sculpted Chantilly lace. Also taking center stage are soutache bodies with luxurious embroidered enhancements and jet beads that evoke the classic splendor of bullfighting.
Natural silk with an extraordinary drape, like crepe for flowing silhouettes; translucent organza for large volumes; transparencies and invisible textures painted with a tattoo effect and decorated with rows of enamelled beads are some of the predominant fabrics in the collection.
Metallic brushstrokes that shade a tonal palette in which chromatic restraint prevails and white, black and red -so Spanish and extremely sober-, dominate over leafy tones and luminous purple.
“HANNIBALISSIMO 35” is a tribute to more than three decades of love for sewing, to 35 years dedicated to creating timeless proposals that speak of femininity with the unmistakable and exquisite hallmark of the firm. To celebrate this 35th Anniversary, Hannibal Laguna has just inaugurated on June 15 the exhibition “ El Secreto del Glamour” in the exhibition hall of Palacio Provincial de Alicante (Spain), which can be visited until September 15, 2023.
